Characters: (Tony enters first, then Priscilla, then Greg)
TONY---(enters) Hmm, I hope I have everything I need on this list.
PRISCILLA---(enters) Hi Tony, whatcha doing? Thatís a pretty long list you have there.†† Are you going to have a party?
TONY---No, Iím not going to have a party. This is what I need to make Jesus happy.
PRISCILLA--- Whatís on that list? I want to make Jesus happy too.
GREGó(enters) Hi Priscilla. Hey Tony. What are you doing?
TONY--- I have to get some fruit.
GREG--- Thatís a really long list. What are you buying?
TONY--- I heard my Mom talking to a friend and she told her that she needed to have fruit to make Jesus happy.
PRISCILLA--- Yeah, you told me that, but whatís on the list?
TONY--- Well, I have apples, oranges, peaches, pears, grapes, pineapple, cherriesÖ (Looks around) bananas and watermelon. Would you like to go to the store with me and help carry some of these?
GREG--- Wait a minute, Tony. Iím sure you didnít hear all of the conversation your Mom had with her friend.
TONY--- Oh really?
GREG--- What your Mother told her was, she needed the fruits of the Spirit. We were just talking about that at our devotions last night.
PRISCILLA---Fruits of the Spirit? That makes a little more sense.
TONY---You mean I donít have to buy all this fruit?
GREG--- Thatís what it means. The fruits of the Spirit are Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-control. Itís found in the bible Ė Galatians, Chapter 5 verses 22 and 23. We had to memorize them.
TONY--- Wow! Iím glad you came here.
GREG--- Dad told us we should always know them. He said it would help us to live like Jesus everyday.
TONY--- Wow, I wonít have to use all the money Iíve been saving up for Christmas. Thanks Greg.
PRISCILLA--- Yeah Greg. I was wondering how he was going to keep all that fruit from getting spoiled and smelling bad.
GREG--- Good! Well, I have to go now. See you later, bye.
PRISCILLA & TONY--- Thanks again Greg, see you later.
TONY--- Well, I guess if Iím not sure about something Iíll ask my parents. Priscilla would you like to come over to my house for awhile? We could play this new game Mom bought for me?
PRISCILLA--- That sounds like fun. But Iíll have to call my Mom and tell her where I am. Letís go.
